There are numerous options for giving within the Foundation. Many contributors select the unrestricted Endow El Dorado Fund which allows the Board the greatest flexibility in directing resources. Others prefer to designate their gifts for specific purposes that reflect their particular philanthropic interests and allow these gifts to make a lasting connection with issues or organizations meaningful to them. Anyone may contribute to any established fund at any time. We can help you select an existing fund that matches your personal goals. The funds that have been established at the Foundation are described below.
Donors establish funds to which contributions can be made at any time by any interested person and in any amount. Fund advisors recommend grants that fulfill the fund’s intent.
This unrestricted endowment fund allows for support to be directed where it is most needed now and in the future. The Board consults closely with community leaders and organizations in making its grant decisions. Grants are made to local agencies and projects where your generosity will do the most good.
Many local families have established their own advised funds. Family members get together to determine how the proceeds from their fund can best benefit the community.
These are permanent funds established by businesses, individuals, organizations, or the agencies they benefit. The funds provide area agencies with ongoing financial support.
These endowments have been created to provide tuition assistance and recognition to students. Each fund has its own criteria for selecting recipients. These funds are open to contributions from others.
When donors want their gift to impact a certain interest area within the county, they can contribute to a Field of Interest Fund. The El Dorado Community Foundation will knowledgeably make grants each year within each chosen field.
