From the Community Needs Forum
March 26, 2010
From 100 attendees (including approximately 15 GABY students), 62 responses were received.
The overall response was extremely positive. The audience felt we did an exceptionally good job of informing the attendees about community needs (e.g. “excellent, outstanding, fantastic, very comprehensive” etc.).
When asked what worked well, there was a strong response that the event was very well organized and that the speakers’ presentations were well received (e.g. “inspiring, excellent” etc.). Attendees also enjoyed the social hour, but most wanted to be served a light dinner (all but one respondent said that they would be willing to pay $10 to attend an educational forum).
Suggestions of “turn up the PA” and “have more time for the Q & A” were received but many respondents were still eager to have the WFED stage an event like this every year.
A concern was voiced by a few that the speakers should be cautioned not be “campaign” or “politicize” their presentations.
Other areas of interest that attendees were interested in ranged from the homeless issue to the environment, to senior care and also the future of El Dorado County’s non-profits.
