Yes, there was a Kelly Corrigan sighting in El Dorado County – and it was confirmed as you can see by the photos! From the Today Show in New York to the San Francisco airport, to a quick stop to see her daughters at home, to a car that drove her straight to Union Mine High School’s Theatre to greet and speak to an excited group of 250 people! What a day. What an author. What an inspiration to all who have the privilege to read her books or hear her speak.
The event was carefully planned and executed by the Women’s Fund El Dorado along with the El Dorado Community Foundation. The cost incurred in bringing Ms. Corrigan to the foothills was funded by Marshall Hospital and the El Dorado Community Foundation, which enabled the Women’s Fund to donate the entire total of donations from the $25/person ticket sales, to the Pink Ribbon Fund at the El Dorado Community Foundation and Threads of Life. Both of these organizations were formed for the purpose of offering education, free mammograms, counseling services, support and gift baskets to cancer patients who are our own neighbors, friends and families. Proceeds of over $5,000.00 will be split 50/50 between these two entities in support of their good work.
