The Non-Profit Alliance of El Dorado County Hosts Sheriff Candidate Hopefuls

The seven candidates running for the office of El Dorado County Sheriff faced a room full of individuals representing most all of the 44 members of the Non-Profit Alliance of El Dorado County.

The candidates were seated on the stage in the Sequoia Restaurant’s ballroom polished and primed to answer questions submitted via email to the Alliance from the general public and from the nonprofit community. Questions ranged from “What is your background in the nonprofit arena?” to “What is your stand on concealed weapons?” The attentive audience was rewarded with informed, knowledgeable answers from these men who were grateful for a chance to present their platform and vision for change to “business as usual” to El Dorado County’s law enforcement practices.

All attendees, coming as individuals or as representatives of an organization, went away with a sense of security at having gained some good knowledge to assist them in this important decision before going to the polls in June. And at the very least, they got enough information to inspire them to get to the candidates’ websites and do further research. Everyone felt it was time well spent and they were grateful to the Non-Profit Alliance for bringing these candidates together to hear concerns and answer questions from the community of nonprofits that provide invaluable services to the residents of El Dorado County.

The Non-Profit Alliance of El Dorado County was created to provide a platform for advocacy, structural development and management support to the human service nonprofit community of El Dorado County. The goal of the Alliance is to promote collaboration, build capacity through a self help model, and maintain a core advocacy for program development and implementation.
