Welcome to El Dorado Community Foundation’s comprehensive collection of philanthropic resources and services.  Let us help you make good charitable investments in our community.

Since 1994 we have helped generous community members make the most of their charitable giving.  We act as stewards for local people and organizations who entrust their gifts to our care to build a permanent endowment for our community.

We work with donors who have varied philanthropic goals and areas of interest.  El Dorado Community Foundation is proud to provide flexible ways to effect the positive change our donors desire to see.  The opportunities are endless!

STANDARDS FOR U.S. COMMUNITY FOUNDATIONS

The Nationals Standards Seal by our name indicates official confirmation from the Council on Foundations that we have met the most rigorous standards in philanthropy.  It affirms our commitment to financial security, transparency and accountability.  It says our grantmaking includes an open competitive process designed to address the changing needs in our community.  The National Standards Seal also confirms our history of honoring donors' wishes to support the arts, cultivate gardens, save endangered species, cure illness, expand literacy, protect and serve our children and support countless other important causes.

The National Standards for U.S. Community Foundations Program was established in cooperation with the Council on Foundations.  National Standards guide community foundations in establishing legal, ethical and effective operational practices that serve as blueprints for internal development and benchmarks for external assessment. The National Standards require El Dorado Community Foundation to document its policies for donor services, investment management, grantmaking and administration.  To receive confirmation of National Standards compliance, El Dorado Community Foundation submitted its organizational and financial policies and procedures to a rigorous peer review.
